A crystal form with four identical faces arranged symmetrically, or in chemistry, a compound with two phenol groups or two phenyl groups attached.
Etymology
From bi- (two) plus phenoid (from Greek 'phainein' meaning to show). In crystallography, it references the appearance of two matching wedge-shaped faces.
