Definition
A type of strong leather shoe or boot with overlapping laces that originated from military footwear.
Etymology
Named after Prussian General Gebhard von Blücher (1742-1819), who was famous for his military campaigns in the Napoleonic Wars. The shoe style was named in his honor in the early 19th century.
