Definition
A type of fishing net used in South American and other fishing traditions, or a South American stew made with meat and vegetables.
Etymology
From Spanish 'boliche', possibly derived from 'bola' (ball), referring to the weighted net; may have indigenous South American origins related to fishing techniques.
Kelly Says
In Argentina, 'boliche' stew is made by cooking an entire pot roast with vegetables until it's so tender it falls apart—the dish represents how Spanish colonizers adapted indigenous cooking methods to European ingredients!
