Bowie

/ˈboʊi/ noun

Definition

a large hunting knife with a fixed blade and crossguard

Etymology

Named after James Bowie (1796-1836), American frontiersman who died at the Alamo

Kelly Says

The Bowie knife became legendary in the American frontier, but ironically, James Bowie himself probably didn't design the knife that bears his name. His brother Rezin is often credited with the original design!
