One of Jupiter's four largest moons, the second-largest of the Galilean moons, with a heavily cratered surface.
Etymology
From Greek mythology: Callisto was a nymph transformed into a bear by Zeus's jealous wife Hera. Galileo discovered this moon in 1610 and named it after this mythological figure.
