Definition
A member of the phylum Chaetopoda, which includes segmented worms like earthworms and marine bristle worms.
Etymology
From Greek 'chaete' (bristle, hair) and 'poda' (feet), referring to the distinctive bristle-like structures (parapodia) that these worms use for movement.
Kelly Says
Earthworms are chaetopods, and those tiny bristles you can barely see are actually sophisticated limbs called parapodia that help them burrow through soil—they're basically walking with hair.
