Change

/tʃeɪndʒ/ verb

Definition

To change is to make something different or to become different yourself. It can involve size, shape, place, behavior, or almost any quality.

Etymology

From Old French 'changier', from Late Latin 'cambiare' meaning 'to exchange, barter'. The original idea was about swapping one thing for another.

Kelly Says

At its root, 'change' is about swapping—trading one state for another. Even when you 'change your mind', your brain is doing a kind of silent trade-in, returning one belief and picking up a new one.
