Definition
A printing or reproduction process that uses chemical reactions to create images on a printing surface.
Etymology
From chemi- (chemistry) + -graphy (from Greek graphia, writing). The term emerged in the 19th century as printing technology advanced and chemical processes became central to image reproduction.
Kelly Says
Chemigraphy sits at the intersection of science and art—it represented a moment when chemists and artists had to collaborate, creating hybrid knowledge that neither field had alone.
