Etymology
From 'chloroauric' + '-ite' (mineral-naming suffix). Named following mineralogical conventions that combine the chemical elements present in the mineral.

Chloroaurite is so rare that most geologists have never encountered it in the field—it only forms under very specific chemical conditions in certain ancient gold-bearing rocks, making each specimen a genuine treasure for mineral collectors.
