Clog

/klɑːɡ/ verb

Definition

To block or jam something so it can't flow or move; to accumulate in a way that prevents passage.

Etymology

From Old Norse 'kloggi' meaning a block of wood or a burden. Originally it meant a wooden obstruction or weight, then broadened to mean any kind of blockage.

Kelly Says

Hair clogs drains because human hair is made of keratin (the same stuff as fingernails) which is super strong and doesn't break down easily, so it tangles with soap scum and creates the perfect clog in your pipes.
