Columnistic

/ˌkɒljuːmˈnɪstɪk/ adjective

Definition

Relating to or characteristic of a columnist or the style of writing found in newspaper and magazine columns.

Etymology

From columnist + -ic (adjective suffix). Columnist itself comes from column + -ist (one who practices), ultimately from Latin columna 'pillar' applied to the format of regular printed commentary.

Kelly Says

The columnistic voice became its own art form—it's more personal than straight news but more credible than pure opinion. Twitter and blogs are basically trying to recapture what columnists perfected: regular, honest takes from a trusted voice.
