Definition
Plural of confidant; people trusted with private, secret, or personal information.
Etymology
From French confident, derived from Latin confidens, the present participle of confidere meaning 'to trust' or 'to confide,' composed of con- (completely) and fidere (to trust).
Kelly Says
Having a true confidant is so rare and precious that ancient philosophy considered it one of life's greatest treasures—Aristotle wrote that without someone to share your thoughts with, friendship becomes impossible.
