Definition
The act of calling people together for a meeting or gathering, usually formally or officially.
Etymology
From Latin 'convenire' (to come together), made of 'com-' (together) + 'venire' (to come). The word has meant 'to assemble' since medieval times.
Kelly Says
The root 'venire' gives us tons of words—adventure, revenue, venue—and they all secretly mean something about 'coming' or 'arrival,' which is a hidden pattern in English!
