Definition
Relating to the cubit or to the forearm and elbow region of the body.
Etymology
From Latin cubitus (elbow) + -al (adjective suffix meaning 'relating to'). Developed in anatomical terminology to describe structures near the elbow.
Kelly Says
When doctors talk about your 'cubital fossa,' they mean that curved dimple inside your elbow where they draw blood—the anatomy textbooks named it directly after the ancient measurement unit!
