Cyclone

/ˈsaɪkloʊn/ noun

Definition

A violent, rotating storm system with strong winds around a low-pressure center, especially over tropical oceans.

Etymology

From Greek 'kyklon' meaning 'moving in a circle' or 'whirling', from 'kyklos' meaning 'circle'. It was first used in the 19th century for storms that seemed to spin.

Kelly Says

A cyclone is basically the atmosphere drawing a huge, dangerous spiral. From above, it looks like a giant white galaxy made of clouds and wind.
