A genus of carnivorous pitcher plants found in California with a distinctive hooded shape, commonly called the cobra lily.
Named after William Darlington, a 19th-century botanist and naturalist, using the Latinized scientific naming convention (genus + -ia suffix). It's the only species in its genus.
