Daze

/deɪz/ verb

Definition

To stun or confuse someone so much that they can't think clearly for a moment.

Etymology

From Old Norse 'dasask' (meaning to be bewildered or stunned). It came into Middle English through Scandinavian traders and sailors during the Viking period, originally describing a state of shock or confusion.

Kelly Says

A 'daze' is neurologically similar to what happens after a mild concussion—your brain literally loses focus and your sense of time becomes fuzzy, which is why stunned people often can't remember what just happened to them.
