Definition
In a dazed manner; in a confused or stunned way; as if unable to think clearly.
Etymology
From 'dazed' (past participle of 'daze' from Old Norse 'dasi') plus '-ly' (adverbial suffix). Emerged in English by the 1600s.
Kelly Says
Dazedly describes that specific zombie-like state where you're awake but not really present—neuroscience now calls this 'dissociation,' but poets have been describing the feeling for centuries!
