Definition
A genus of parasitic tapeworms that can live in the intestines of fish-eating animals and humans.
Etymology
From Greek di- (two) + phyllon (leaf) + bothrion (groove or pit). Named for the two groove-like slits on its head used for attachment. This is a medical/parasitology genus name.
