Definition
An archaic or obsolete spelling of 'increase'; to make or become greater.
Etymology
Middle English 'encresen' from Old French 'encreistre', from Latin 'increscere' (en- + crescere, to grow). 'En-' was once standard before 'crease' (grow).
Kelly Says
This old spelling shows how 'increase' used to start with 'en-' just like 'enlarge' and 'enable'—we dropped the 'en-' over time, but the etymology shows Latin prefix that meant 'to cause to grow'!
