Entire

/ɛnˈtaɪər/ adjective

Definition

Whole and complete, with no part missing.

Etymology

From Old French *entier* ('whole, undivided'), from Latin *integer* ('untouched, whole'). *Integer* also gives us the math term for whole numbers.

Kelly Says

Entire and integer are siblings—both about 'wholeness.' When you eat an entire pizza, you’re treating it like a single unit, not slices; your brain loves turning many pieces into one thing.
