Definition
To remove hair from the body, usually by pulling it out from the root using special equipment or products.
Etymology
From Latin 'e-' (out) + 'pilus' (hair) + '-ate' (to make or do). The term was coined in the early 20th century as cosmetic technology advanced.
Kelly Says
The epilator was invented in the early 1900s and revolutionized personal grooming, but interestingly, removing body hair through various methods dates back to ancient Egypt—Cleopatra probably would've loved modern epilation.
