Epistemological

/ɪˌpɪstɪməˈlɒdʒɪkəl/ adjective

Definition

Relating to epistemology, the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature, sources, and validity of knowledge; dealing with questions about how we know what we know.

Etymology

From Greek 'episteme' (knowledge, understanding) and 'logos' (study, reasoning). 'Episteme' derives from 'epistasthai' (to know, understand), literally meaning 'to stand upon' knowledge.

Kelly Says
