Ergophile

/ˈɜːɡəfaɪl/ noun

Definition

A person who loves work or is enthusiastic about their job and finds genuine pleasure in being productive and busy.

Etymology

From Greek 'ergon' (work) and 'phile' (lover of). This relatively new term emerged in modern psychology to describe the personality type opposite to workaholics—those who genuinely enjoy labor.

Kelly Says

Ergophiles are the opposite of lazy—they literally love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from work, and neuroscience shows their brains release more dopamine during productive tasks than other people's do.
