Eudemonia

/ˌjuːdɪˈmoʊniə/ noun

Definition

In Greek philosophy, the highest human good achieved through virtue, wisdom, and the fulfillment of one's potential.

Etymology

From Greek eudaimonia (eu- 'good' + daimon 'spirit'). Originally meant being blessed by good spirits, but Aristotle transformed it into a philosophical concept of human flourishing through excellent character.

Kelly Says

Eudemonia is often translated as 'happiness,' but it's much deeper—it's about becoming the best version of yourself through practice and wisdom, more like fulfillment than pleasure.
