Definition
Plural of excrement; waste matter discharged from the bowels; feces.
Etymology
From Latin excrementum (something sifted out), from excernere (to sift out or discharge); the plural form simply adds the standard -s or -es ending.
Kelly Says
The Romans literally thought of feces as 'sifted out' material, showing how ancient people observed that the body processes food and removes what it doesn't need—a surprisingly accurate ancient description.
