Extroverts

/ˈɛkstrəvɜrts/ noun

Definition

Plural of extrovert; people who are outgoing, gain energy from social interaction, and tend to focus on the external world rather than their inner thoughts.

Etymology

From extrovert, which was coined by psychologist Carl Jung in the 1920s from Latin extro- 'outward' + vertere 'to turn.' The plural adds the standard English -s suffix to indicate more than one.

Kelly Says

Jung actually invented 'extrovert' as the opposite of 'introvert' to describe a psychological theory, but it's become so deeply embedded in how we talk about personality that most people forget it's less than 100 years old! It's one of psychology's most successful exports into everyday language.
