Feministic

/ˌfɛmɪˈnɪstɪk/ adjective

Definition

Of, relating to, or characteristic of feminism or feminists.

Etymology

From 'feminist' plus the adjectival suffix '-ic,' which creates adjectives from nouns. Though grammatically valid, 'feminist' (the adjective form of the noun 'feminist') is far more commonly used.

Kelly Says

English speakers prefer 'feminist' over 'feministic' because shorter words win out in everyday language—we choose the most economical form that works, which is why 'feministic' sounds awkward to modern ears.
