A chemical compound formed by combining a ferric salt (iron in +3 state) with prussic acid or its derivatives.
Etymology
Compound of 'ferri-' (iron in +3 state) and 'prussiate' (a prussic acid salt). Named after the Prussian region where prussic acid compounds were first systematically studied in the 18th century.
