Definition
A salt or compound formed from iron and prussic acid (hydrogen cyanide), used in certain chemical and photographic processes.
Etymology
From 'ferro-' (iron) + 'prussiate' (from prussic acid, named after Prussian blue dye). The term combines iron chemistry with cyanide chemistry from the 18th century.
