Galore

/ɡəˈlɔːr/ adverb

Definition

In abundance; plentiful amounts of something. Used after a noun to emphasize large quantities or great variety.

Etymology

From Irish go leor meaning 'enough, sufficient,' from go 'until' + leor 'enough.' Entered English in the 17th century through Anglo-Irish usage, maintaining its postpositive position (coming after the noun it modifies).

Kelly Says

Unlike most English adjectives that come before nouns, 'galore' always comes after - you say 'problems galore,' not 'galore problems.' This is because it retains its original Irish grammar structure, making it one of the few words that preserves Celtic syntax in English!
