Definition
A garage is a building or covered space where vehicles, especially cars, are parked or stored. It can also be a place where mechanics repair cars.
Etymology
“Garage” comes from French “garage,” from “garer,” meaning “to shelter or protect.” It entered English in the early 20th century with the rise of automobiles.
Kelly Says
Many famous companies, including Apple and Google, like to say they started in a garage, turning this plain space into a symbol of creativity and invention. For a lot of families, the garage quietly acts as a workshop, storage unit, and car shelter all in one.
