Definition
A genus of parasitic flatworms that live in blood vessels, particularly associated with the disease schistosomiasis.
Etymology
From Greek 'haima' (blood) + 'bios' (life), with Latin scientific naming conventions. Named for the organism's blood-dwelling habitat.
