Logic

/ˈlɒdʒɪk/ noun

Definition

Logic is the system of rules that helps us decide whether arguments and conclusions make sense. It is also used more generally to mean clear, reasonable thinking.

Etymology

It comes from Greek “logikē (tekhnē),” meaning “the art of reasoning,” from “logos,” which can mean word, reason, or idea. The term entered Latin and then English through philosophical writing.

Kelly Says

Logic seems cold and mechanical, but humans constantly mix it with emotion and bias without noticing. Computers follow strict logic all the time, which is why they can seem both incredibly smart and incredibly clueless at once.
