Definition
Something that blocks your way or makes it difficult to do or achieve something.
Etymology
From Latin "obstaculum" meaning "barrier, hindrance," from "obstare" (to stand in the way). The root literally means "to stand against."
Kelly Says
An obstacle doesn’t have to be a wall; it can be fear, money, or lack of time. Once you see obstacles as things that "stand in the way," you can start asking, "Can I go around, over, or through this?"
