Omnipotent

/ɑmˈnɪpətənt/ adjective

Definition

Having unlimited or infinite power; able to do anything that is possible to do.

Etymology

From Medieval Latin omnipotens, from Latin omnis meaning 'all' and potens meaning 'powerful.' The term entered English in the 14th century primarily in theological contexts to describe divine attributes.

Kelly Says

The concept of omnipotence creates fascinating philosophical puzzles - can an omnipotent being create a rock so heavy they can't lift it? These paradoxes have occupied theologians and philosophers for centuries, revealing how our language sometimes pushes beyond the boundaries of logical possibility when trying to describe the infinite.
