Definition
To seek is to look for something or try hard to get or achieve it.
Etymology
From Old English “sēcan” meaning “to go to, search for, inquire.” It is related to older Germanic words about traveling or making an effort to find something.
Kelly Says
“Seek” has a more serious tone than “look for”—we seek truth, happiness, or justice. The word carries a sense of a journey, not just a quick glance under the couch.
