Taurus

/ˈtɔːrəs/ noun

Definition

The second astrological sign of the zodiac, represented by a bull, or a constellation in the northern sky. Also refers to someone born under this sign (approximately April 20 - May 20).

Etymology

From Latin 'taurus' meaning 'bull', derived from Proto-Indo-European root '*tauro-' meaning 'bull'. The constellation was named by ancient astronomers who saw the shape of a bull's head and horns in the star pattern.

Kelly Says

Taurus contains the famous Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, which has been observed and mythologized by cultures worldwide for thousands of years. The constellation is home to Aldebaran, the 'Eye of the Bull,' one of the brightest stars in our sky.
