Tucking

/ˈtʌkɪŋ/ verb

Definition

Pushing, folding, or pressing something into a small space or into position; placing snugly or securely.

Etymology

From Middle English tukken meaning 'to pull, tug', possibly from Middle Dutch tucken meaning 'to pull sharply'. The sense of folding or pushing into place developed from the idea of pulling fabric tight.

Kelly Says

There's something deeply nurturing about the act of tucking - whether it's tucking in a child, tucking away a treasured item, or tucking in a shirt. The word carries connotations of care, security, and making things neat and proper, reflecting our fundamental desire to create order and comfort in our environment.
