Anthotaxy

/ænˈθɒtæki/ noun

Definition

An alternative or variant term for the arrangement and ordering of flowers on a plant.

Etymology

From Greek 'anthos' (flower) and 'taxis' (arrangement), a less common variant of anthotaxis used interchangeably in botanical literature.

Kelly Says

This is basically the same word as anthotaxis but written differently—scientists sometimes create multiple versions of technical terms before settling on a standard, which is why older botanical books use 'anthotaxy' instead!
