Apogaeic

/ˌæpəˈɡeɪɪk/ adjective

Definition

Relating to or occurring at the apogee, the farthest point in an orbit from the body being orbited.

Etymology

From apogee (from apo- 'away from' + gaia 'earth') + -ic (adjective suffix). Apogee originally meant the farthest point from Earth in planetary motion.

Kelly Says

Apogaeic is the astronomical term for when a satellite is at its most distant point, and every Hubble Space Telescope image we take was snapped at slightly different apogaeic distances, subtly changing our perspective of the universe.
