Definition
Mighty in arms; possessing great military power or strength; formidable in warfare.
Etymology
From Latin armipotens, combining arma ('weapons') and potens ('mighty'), an adjective used by classical Roman poets and occasionally revived in English literary works.
Kelly Says
Ancient writers reserved 'armipotent' for only the most fearsome warriors and generals—calling someone this was like saying they were basically unstoppable in battle!
