Definition
The rank, status, or condition of being a Buddha; the state of having achieved Buddhahood and enlightenment.
Etymology
From 'Buddha' combined with the English suffix '-ship' (rank, status, or condition), similar to words like 'leadership' or 'friendship'.
Kelly Says
The words 'Buddhaship' and 'Buddhahood' mean almost the same thing but come from different English word-building traditions—'-hood' feels older and more fundamental, while '-ship' feels more formal and official.
