Definition
Plural of Capricorn; people born under the zodiac sign Capricorn (roughly December 22 to January 19), or multiple representations of the sea-goat creature from astronomy and astrology.
Etymology
From Capricorn, derived from Latin 'capricornus' (goat-horned), formed from 'capra' (goat) + 'cornu' (horn). The constellation was named after the mythological sea-goat Amalthea in Greek mythology.
Kelly Says
Capricorns are represented by a sea-goat—half goat, half fish—which is one of the weirdest zodiac symbols. Ancient astronomers apparently thought 'regular goat? Nah, let's make it amphibious and extra weird.'
