Definition
A flowing together; a place where two or more streams or currents meet and flow together.
Etymology
From Latin confluxus, past participle of confluere (to flow together), from con- + fluxus (flowing). Similar to confluence but slightly more archaic.
Kelly Says
A conflux is like a confluence but has a wonderful archaic sound—old navigation records and poetry frequently use it to describe river junctions and the gathering of currents at sea.
