Definition
A horse that exhibits the vice of cribbing, gnawing or biting the edges of its crib, manger, or other wooden structures.
Etymology
From 'crib' plus 'biter' (one who bites), combined to describe a horse that bites its crib. Related to the behavior called cribbing.
Kelly Says
A cribbiter horse can wear down its teeth severely and even ingest harmful amounts of wood—some horses become so obsessed with cribbing that they do it on any available surface, even rocks.
