Definition
To move slowly or laboriously; to dawdle or delay; to go about in a dull or listless manner.
Etymology
Origin uncertain, possibly from Middle English or Scots dialect. May be related to 'dawdle' or have onomatopoetic roots imitating slow, monotonous motion.
Kelly Says
Duddle has an almost musical slowness to it—if you say it slowly, you can hear the lazy movements it describes, which is what onomatopoeia is all about.
