Definition
Plural of federacy, the act of uniting separate states or groups into a federal system.
Etymology
From late 16th-century English, derived from federal plus the suffix -acy (meaning 'condition or state of'), modeled on words like supremacy and democracy.
Kelly Says
Federacy is a word almost nobody uses anymore because we just say 'federation' instead—but it survives in historical texts documenting when different colonies and states were figuring out how to unite together.
