Juncture

/ˈdʒʌŋktʃər/ noun

Definition

A particular point in time or a critical moment when important decisions must be made or significant events occur. Also refers to a place where things join or meet, such as a junction or connection point.

Etymology

From Latin 'junctura' (a joining), from 'jungere' (to join). Originally referred to physical joints or connections, but by the 16th century had expanded to mean critical moments in time where different paths or possibilities meet.

Kelly Says

At every juncture in your life, you're literally standing at a crossroads! The word captures both physical joining (like road junctions) and temporal joining (like decision points), showing how we think about time spatially.
