Definition
Felt or became aware of something, often without being told directly, like sensing someone's mood.
Etymology
From Latin 'sensus' (feeling, perception). Originally described physical sensation through the five senses, then evolved to mean intuitive or emotional perception.
Kelly Says
Science shows that you can actually 'sense' things through subtle signals you're not conscious of—your brain detects 10 million bits of information per second, but you're only aware of 40 bits, so 'sensing' is your subconscious mind telling you something.
